July 2016 Attack on Koda

It was a pretty sunny late morning when I went outside and Koda was across the street at the Valentine's house playing with Rocky, their Burnese Mountain Dog. Rocky was the nicest, sweetest, biggest dog I've ever met.
Our other neighbors dog, Holly, came outside and Koda, along side Rocky ran to greet Holly. Koda ran between Holly's legs and Holly attacked Koda. She bit him pretty hard causing some extreme bleeding.  We immediately took Koda to the animal doctor where they examined him and said that it would heal from the inside-out.  We took him home and the next day, he started hemorrhaging. He was bleeding all over the floor in the kitchen so we scooped him up in a towel and put him in the truck with Hailey holding him. Poor Hailey. It was a pretty traumatic situation. We got to the animal hospital where they took him back for surgery. They watched him overnight and sent him home with drain tubes.  While I was at the appointment with Koda, Carmen met me there to pick up the girls so they wouldn't have to stay there. Luckily, we have some pretty great neighbors who were very helpful in paying for the vet bills.
Koda really was never the same after that.
