The 4th of July is always a great time around these parts. This year we did the usual which was nothing shy of fabulous. In the morning, the girls and I watched a movie while I did their hair. Then, the girls and I went to Utah lake so I could take some pictures of them. It had been a VERY long time since I had taken pictures of the girls together so I seized the opportunity. It was a very hot day and after hanging out with two very patient and obedient girls in the blazing heat, I figured they deserved a Slurpee. This was their first time getting one and the looks on their faces were priceless. They LOVED it, of course. Then, it was off to Grandma and Grandpa Johnson's for a swim party and BBQ. Kristen and Nolan were in town, which is always a fun treat. Once the sun went down a bit, we went outside and lit off some fireworks and once the girls were spent, we headed home. Another 4th of July success.

My Little Darlings
I went on a bit of a photography hiatus last year. I hadn't used my camera in 6 months! I felt like it was time to break it out and get some use out of it. Especially since I hadn't taken any photos of my girls for quite some time. We went down to Utah Lake and had ourselves a little photo-shoot It was SO hot that day. My girls were great sports. After, we stopped at a gas station and got slurpees because, well, who doesn't love a slurpee on a hot summer day??

Little Ramblings
While driving in the car one sunny day on the way to the gym, a conversation blossomed in the back seat of the van.
Someone had cut me off while I was driving and after my "what the" response, Addy adds: "okay, that was awkward!"
Hailey responds: "Addy that's not what awkward is. Now, if I was going to the bathroom and you came in and sat on my lap, THAT would be awkward."
-----------------------------------------------
Hailey: "Hey Addy, you know what my favorite thing about saying excuse me is?"
Addy: "What?"
Hailey: "Toots!"
-------------------------------------------------
While I was paying for my mounds of things in Costco, I look over to see Hailey suddenly punch Addy right in the mouth. I ask her why she would do something like that...
Her response:
"well, I was going to pretend to punch her in the stomach, but my brain wanted me to punch her in the face."
