Thanksgiving & One Other Thing

Before I share the amazing Thanksgiving weekend I had with my little family, I have to rewind a month and share this adorable picture that I forgot I had.

My inlaws informed me of this great train ride near their home.  This family and the neighborhood surrounding pull together every year to put on this great & FREE train ride. It's filled with tunnels of spooky goblins and mummies and music and lights. It was a great time. Damon and Summer joined us with their kids.  I was amazed at how awesome this was. This will definitely be a tradition of ours. I can't wait to see how their Christmas ride is.

Ok, now back to Thanksgiving.

Nate and I made the mutual decision to stay home by ourselves this year. Nobody from his family ended up being around. We were suppose to head south to my parents for Thanksgiving this year, but with an accumulation of STUFF that has come up, I was about to lose my mind and therefor, needed a bit of down time.  It turned out to be one of the best weekends ever.

Thanksgiving night was a little sad and lonely till we made the final decision to just go and eat at this little place that we figured might not be busy. It wasn't.  That was only PART of the good news of the night. They had a full Thanksgiving Buffet with every kind of pie you could think of and a salad and fruit buffet all for $15.00. Kids were free!!!!
Wahoo!
We had the place to ourselves and it was AWESOME!!

That Saturday we went ice skating!! The girls have been wanting to go ever since we went to Disney on Ice, which will be another post. (I know, i'm a little behind on posts)
In the past, Addy hasn't really been interested. She was really wobbly and therefor, didn't want anything to do with it. This time, it was a different story...

After they ice skated their hearts out, we took them to the mall to see Santa and get some ice cream.

At this point, Hailey has many things on her list for Christmas.

Hailey:
Horse and Stable
Crayon Maker
Princess Dolls
Easy Bake Oven
Dora Phone with Makeup
etc. The list goes on...

Addy:
Strawberry Shortcake Stylin doll
Crayon Maker
Build-A-Bear
Dora phone with makeup
Princess Dolls
Princess Purse

We stopped at Coldstone on the way out of the mall...

Sunday was a pretty chill day... we had Nate's family over for dinner and just spent some good quality home-time.

Monday morning came and we were pleasantly surprised to remember that Nate had the day off since he worked Thanksgiving.

We decided to take the girls to the ZOO.
We love the zoo. Especially on days when nobody is there and the animals are left to us alone. It was GREAT!

After the zoo, we went out to eat lunch at Red Robin where this little comedian had us all laughing...

After lunch, we went and got ice cream then headed home to relax for the rest of the night..

The next nigh, Tuesday, Nate surprised us with taking us to Tucanos for dinner. Since we have carnivors for children, it was the perfect place.  They ate so much steak, it was ridiculous.  After we ate, the girls wanted to run around the Riverwoods since it is all decked out for Christmas.  Of course, Santa was there and they of course had to go talk to him AGAIN. They are obsessed with seeing Santa this year.

That concluded our amazing Thanksgiving Days together as our little family and it was perfect. Now, we're off to making lists and checking them twice!!
