Welcome to Miami

Saturday, the 13th, we left our cruise ship early that morning and headed to the airport to pick up our rental car.  It was a sad morning but at least we knew we had a couple days to play in Miami still.  We got our car and headed off to who knows where.  We had no idea what to do or where to go and we had time to kill before being able to check in to our hotel so we headed out on an adventure. We decided to take the kids to the Miami Sea Aquarium.

It was cool and fun and the girls enjoyed seeing the animals, but it wasn't all it was cracked up to be.. AND it cost us a crud load just to get in. Lame. But, all in all, it was still enjoyable.

Hailey got to hold a giant Iguana, but those sneaky workers stayed right in the way so you couldn't take your own pictures. GRRRRR! I wasn't about to spend the $30 they wanted for that picture so this will have to do.

Then we came upon this free roaming peacock and man was he ticked. Any time you even started walking toward him his feathers would shake and he would run at you. Crazy! Beautiful though.

This was the baby sting ray petting pool.

Best of friends...

We were walking around when suddenly the clouds covered the sky and it started pouring rain. It was amazing how fast it moved in.

The girls were wiped out from the day already and it was only lunch time. We headed back to our hotel to get settled and then we took off for another adventure on Miami Beach.

Miami Beach!
The girls were obsessed with hunting for seashells. We brought home a bag full.

After the beach we headed back to our hotel to get some R&R. It was a long day.
